Material Moisture Gigamodule

Analysis of 8 x material, building and wood moisture content within an extraordinarily large measuring range

Extension module for the fully automatic measuring of up to 8 x material moistures of different objects thanks to an enormously large measuring range from under 10kOhm to over 100GOhm i.e. wood moisture from under 6 %Wg to over 90 %Wg!
Material moistureThe Material Moisture Gigamodule is one of the most modern extension systems for the analysis of material, building and wood moisture.

This Universal Sensor (extension module) for our flexible data loggers (e.g. Thermofox Universal, Materialfox,...) was developed especially for the analysis of the material moisture of different materials (e.g. lumber, screed, concrete, mortar, parquet and many more). The system has eight sensor inputs thus enabling the simultaneous analysis of up to eight different materials. Thanks to its extraordinarily large measuring range it can measure on the one hand very dry materials (e.g. wood below 6%Wg i.e. electrical material resistance > 100 GOhm), but on the other hand also very moist materials (e.g. wood over 90%Wg i.e. electrical material resistance < 10 kOhm) quickly and reliably. This permits the easy execution of even very comprehensive and randomly located long-term recordings of material samples in buildings, halls, in the laboratory or at other locations. Temperatur Data LoggerBesides the supplied tables that give you information about numerous construction materials, the Material Moisture Gigamodule provides several operation modes implemented in the system. These help you to determine directly the moisture content in percent by weight (%Wg) of e.g. spruce or pine wood. Additionally the system can determine the electrical resistance of the measuring sample which permits even more fundamental analyses e.g. material moisture calibration in the scientific area.

If the extension module is connected e.g. to our data logger Thermofox Universal there is also the possibility to register the object temperature at two places parallel to the material moisture. The temperature monitoring here is effected either via temperature sensors with cable (cable length up to 15m, at request even longer) or also via our flexible wireless temperature sensors.

The power supply of the extension module uses six standard mignon AA batteries that supply the system with up to 2 years of energy, depending on the set analysis rhythm. If required, the batteries can be replaced at any time so that each planned measuring task can start without delay.

Data Logger SoftwareThe programming of the Material Moisture Gigamodule and the used data logger (logger type depending on application) as well as the data evaluation is done via the universal software SoftFOX under Microsoft Windows® XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 or 10. Newer operating systems are naturally also supported. After the corresponding data logger is connected to the computer via a PC interface cable, the system can be read out or configured immediately.  The software offers numerous general functions like for example dynamic project management, graphic data analysis, guide lines, PC controlled  measurement series, calculation of dew point, statistical curve analysis, export function, auto backup, flexible zoom and many more. Besides that the Material Moisture Gigamodule as well as the used data logger system itself can be configured arbitrarily. Functions like setting the analysis interval, min./max. monitoring for extreme value recording without interruption for even slow measuring rhythms, configuration of the real time clock, precise battery test, digital serial number and many more are available here.

Besides this the measuring system can also be connected via the "Universal Alarm" to one of our alarm systems. This enables e.g. the sending of a SMS message ("SMS Alarm System") in case of exceeding a accurately defined material moisture. On the other hand an acoustic alarm in case of underrun or overrun of a defined threshold is also possible. In this case the system is connected to our "Acoustic Alarm" devices.

Features:

  • Collected readings remain in memory of the data logger even without batteries
  • Power supply via six common mignon AA batteries
  • Battery lifespan up to 2 years (depending on configuration). Batteries can be replaced easily
  • Operating environment (humidity) for the system: 10 %rH to 90 %rH (no condensation!)
